Discovered in the early 1800s, the beautiful Helix Nebula (aka NCG 7293) is a large planetary nebula composed of dust, molecular gas, and ionized material. The dying star leading to its creation is evolving to become a white dwarf, and is located near the center of the nebula. The Helix Nebula is located in the constellation of Aquarius.
