Discovered in the early 1800s, the beautiful Helix Nebula (aka NCG 7293 is a large planetary nebula composed of dust, molecular gas, and ionized material. It is located in the constellation of Aquarius. The dying star leading to the creation of this nebula is evolving to become a white dwarf and is located near the center of the nebula.
