Beautiful particle trails from a bubble chamber. A bubble chamber was an early method used in particle physics of tracking particles by superheating liquid hydrogen (or other unstable gas) in a receptacle, and sending charged particles through the liquid. The particles create a path of tiny bubbles in transit, and their paths can be viewed in a similar way to condensation trails left by airplanes.
